Winnie's equation

The Lady Of the House says the increase in the amount of time I spend dawdling, stopping and sniffing on my walks....

.... is in direct proportion to how wet and cold and miserable it is and how much she wants to get home for a coffee.

I say the LOTH complains too much. A bit of rain never hurt ANYONE (in a big, warm, red raincoat)

My Momma can relate to your lady of the house! She hates it when she comes home with wet feet too. Humans. Sheesh! Have a good weekend!

Very interesting post Winnie. And so true (says Gail). But I was a bit disappointed that you didn't publish a real mathematical equation. Perhaps you would like me to work one up for you?

PS Nice raincoat.

Loving the red raincoat, but I can't blame your Momma for wanting to get home for more coffee!

Cold, wet, miserable weather must bring out an irresistible aroma in everything :)

Doesn't the LOTH understand that the Rain makes it difficult to suck up the super smells and stuffs. It just takes LONGER to get the impawtant Outdoors information taken in.
SHEEEEESH... these peeps are such complainers, aren't they?

I LOVE your warm red raincoat! I have a silly yellow slicker instead, and it's not nearly as stylin'.

Nice work, Winnie! I do the same thing. My personal favorite is to slow down when my assistant is late for work and at risk of missing her train downtown.

Winnie, But you head and neck are getting wet. Doesn't your mum realise? :)

Tell the Lady of the House that if she wanted dry, warm walks, she should move to Australia. Or Arizona. I mean, you live in England. And it's spring. And spring means all sorts of fun smells that MUST be smelled (and possibly peed on). I mean, isn't cold and miserable pretty much the definition of England in Spring (or Ireland in July? heehee). Tell TLOTH that she should take her coffee WITH her, so she's not rushing you! VERY styling coat, BTW.

All that said, when it's 5:30am, and it's snowing (like, say, this morning), we like to dawdle outside, and Mom gets all like, "Hey, come inside already - it's cold and I have to fuel up the car before I start my drive to work, and there could be moosies in the dark, and C'MON - GET INSIDE!" *sheesh* We think she should wake up at 5am so we can spend more time outside in the morning while she freezes and frets. Heehee!

When it rains it takes extra time to sniff stuff. I thought everyone knew that. And I hear that rain in the furs and on the hairs is good for it.

A raincoat makes all the difference! I don't know why humans don't think of wearing one instead of complaining about being cold and wet. You'd think they'd learn!

Loving your red raincoat Winnie.
You aren't a soggy doggy :-)
Let me tell you that the LOTH can enjoy her coffee knowing she doesn't have to give you a towel dry :-)

Mum isn't a fan of the rain either, but your jacket sure looks warm!

BOL! The Mama's equation is the exact opposite. The rainier it is, the faster I want to get home.

I feel for the Lady of the House, but I think you have it all figured out, Winnie.

Winnie you look so pretty in your red coat! The Taylor pack who have large amounts of whippet running through them simply do not understand why you even were out in THAT weather LOl xx

Um, I think Desmond operates under the same equation. Although he does at least hesitate at the door when I open it and he realizes it's gross out. He's just fooling me, though, because I always think it will be a quick walk (and we can just play fetch inside), but I wind up out there longer than usual and come back soaking wet!
