There I was - digging this hole.....

Recently, one of my friends on Facebook asked me if I had any tips on how to stop her greyhound digging holes in the garden.

I did not understand this question.

Perhaps she mis-hit the keyboard and she meant how do you START a greyhound digging holes in the garden? Why would anyone want to stop a greyhound having THIS much fun?

I find that when you feel you have dug far enough for one day you should do a few laps of honour.....

And then stand back and admire your paw-work.

The only tip I have come across is that SOME people apparently create a sand pit as a special place for their greyhounds to dig in the garden if they don't think their garden and lawn would really benefit from our novel approach to gardening.

This week, the Lady Of The House is passing on some of my best gardening tips, I believe, while she is in a production of the Tony award-winning musical The Secret Garden with Little Theatre Company. She is very tired and lying on the sofa right now. Three more shows, LOTH!!! Get up and get on with it!!!

Here's the LOTH (all in black) - who plays Mrs Medlock - with Katie Ireland who plays Mary Lennox. Katie is the LOTH's cousin's daughter and we are all very proud of her.

Here's a scene from the happy ending at the end of the show. I don't know if there are any greyhounds in it or not, but if there are it would be a very very happy ending.

Winnie! You are a hole digging star, for sure. hehe! Deccy.xx

Sorry to be a pain but I have been having real problems with Blogger. Some people, who follow me, are not being notified of new posts. Can you let me know if you have received notification of my last post - 18/11 and entitled Finally .... Mum gets her finger out? Just trying to work out what the problem is and who's receiving and who's not. Thanks ever so much. Deccy x

Wow, Winnie, that is a great hole you dug! And you look to be having a fabulous time. So I agree - why would anyone want to STOP this from happening? Humans are weird sometimes!

You're an awesome digger! I wish I could dig like that... but I dig with my nose, not my paws.

Winnie! That's a HUGE HOLE! I don't know if I am more impressed that you dug such a big hole OR that you are able to jump over it! Wow, you really are a superhero.

Your pal, Pip

P.S: Hurray for LOTH on stage! That's very exciting.

Winnie, we simply have to be related! We share such similar views on so many things, including hole digging. I can't wait for the day when our back yard is finally fenced and I can start on my trip to China for real without Dad always catching me and filling my hole back in. I give you a ten for style AND execution!

Okay, Winnie...I'm laughing my head off (especially over the "victory" laps), but no way am I letting Freedom, Casper and/or Nikki see this post. Freedom and Casper have been known to dig a hole or two, but for some reason stopped when Nikki joined the pack. I'm hoping my luck holds, but I probably just cursed myself by mentioning it.

I didn't know the LOTH was an actress. I wish I could have seen the production. I love theatre.

Now why on Earth would anyone be adverse to tunnels in their yard?! My Mama was oddly of the same feeling? I was quite the digger when I was a young's and my Mama built me a digging box where I could dig to my hearts contents and she would hide me bone and treats and toys in it for me to find! Eventually, I outgrew my digging and now the box is home to the Mama's strawberry patch.

Fantastic hole Winnie!!! Olympic standard.

We think the Secret Garden should have a greyhound, too.

That totally made me laugh out loud! I love the joyful racing around, that is just awesome how you captured all that dog joy in photos. Too bad it happens to inconveniently involve a giant hole in the yard. But hey, your people have their hobbies (theater), and you have yours, right Winnie??

Good luck with the last few shows! :)

Hey Winnie!
Wow, what a great way to put those long legs to good use! Super big hole you got there. Love the zoomie pix. Tell LOTH to break a leg!

All right, Winnie-Starting with TLOH,
how proud you must be of her and the rest of the cast. Great costumes! Yes, I agree with you, having a greyhound in the play would definitely have improved it, especially if you dug a hole in the stage, hehe!
