Sunday strolling

I was very excited this morning when everyone started getting ready to go out. I knew it would be something good. Then the Boy Of The House said I could wear his bandana and we jumped into the car.

After a short drive we arrived at Barton Marina at Barton Under Needwood where there were lots of greyhounds and their families gathering in the car park.

I felt very cool in my bandana.

I barked at this girl (who was wearing my coat)- well it's a bit embarrassing when you go somewhere new and someone's wearing the same thing. AND she was a lot younger than me.

By the time this picture was taken - we weren't speaking at all, as you can see. She was also showing off how well she can sit. Huh!

But I soon forgot about that as we all lined up for a picture before we started the walk.

It was a bit chaotic at first.

But then we managed to get ourselves organised. We all said "RABBITS!" as the photo was taken.

The walk had been organised by some of our friends from the RGT Midlands and we had a great time walking round the lakes. Here's some more pictures of our walk which were all taken by the BOTH.

Here's another dog wearing a bandana. But it was a different colour from mine so I didn't bark this time.

A couple of greyhounds were wearing these harnesses. The Lady Of The House says we might get one for me. Anyone else got one? She's worried about me hurting my neck when I see a cat on our walks and I get over excited and pirouette about, and thinks this might be safer and more comfortable for me.

Are you a greyhound? Never mind. You are still welcome.

The final stretch

It was a lovely walk and I was very tired when we got home.

Hope you had a great weekend too.

I've never been to Barton Marina, but Mum says she knows it well, and my Great -Uncle Flynn really liked it there. He went there with Aunty Lou, and his best mate Kai, the border terrier. Mum's a bit worried that Kai is a bit big rabbit sized for me, but we are ever hopeful... Sounds like you had a great day. Deccy x

Ooh la la , you look beautiful in your bandana. We don't blame you for barking at the copycat, or is that copy pup?

Fun walk and so many wonderful dogs.

Looks like everyone had a wonderful time, Winnie:) And you look very pretty in your bandana. The cheek of someone wearing the same coat as you, whatever next? I bet you had a good sleep last night:) I don't know anything about those harnesses but I would imagine they would stop any chance of you jerking your neck around when you see cats!

That looks like you had a great walk Winnie, a harness like that would be much better for you.
I think you are a bit grumpy like me.

Barbie has two harnesses, a Wiggles Wags & Whiskers no pull jellybean and a lighterweight Kramar harness. She hates them. I think she doesn't like how they feel when she walks, because when they are on she walks really slowly.

Bender has to walk in a harness because when he pulls he does choke himself. Barbie never pulls for long so she doesn't have that problem.

OH Winnie what a pretty pink scarf. But really the nerve of that girl to wear the same thing. Sheesh, some pups never learn.

I only us a halter and I loves it! Give it a try and see if you like it!

Winnie, that bandanna is just such a brilliant touch of flair! You are a true fashionista and I admire you for going out there and having a good time. No doubt all the other hounds wished they looked as smart as you!

I have a harness and Mom says it saved our relationship. I didn't know how to walk on a leash AT ALL when I came here. It's embarrassing to admit it, but it's true. Anyway, the harness Mom got for me is a Freedom Harness. It's sold at 2 Hounds Design, but I think other places might have it, too. I'll have Mom post the website on your Mom's Facebook page! They have so many different colors, you're sure to find one you like.

Hi there Winnie
Bonny and Lucy totally agree - seeing someone turn up in YOUR DRESS is SO offputting! (Bet you looked better!)

Still looks like you had a good time at Barton Marina. Like the sound of the deli....yummm

Tell the BOY of the HOUSE it was very kind of him to let you wear his bandana. In my experience it is the smaller peeps who are most fun!
