Now wash your hands

It's been a busy old few days here....and it doesn't show signs of slowing down any time soon.

Now, on top of everything else, the Lady Of The House's mum and dad have nipped off on holiday for a few days and so the LOTH is dashing between our house and their house to keep an eye on their cat Mickey - who's nearly 20.

Mickey obviously wants to stay in his own home at his advanced age and that suits me too.

I love Mickey because he's family. But he's still a cat and I'm a greyhound with years of hunting instincts topped off with the genes of racing champions and several years of my own racing career under my belt.....it wouldn't end well if we had more than a virtual relationship.

Here's a picture the LOTH brought back of Mickey after her visit tonight. He's looking good for an oldster, don't you think?

But I was a bit disgusted by the LOTH's behaviour. She had clearly been fussing and stroking him and she didn't have the decency to wash her hands before she came home.

I gave her a look that would have curdled milk and she nipped off to wash them pretty darn fast after that.

You HAVE to let them know who's boss, you see.

Mickey looks wonderful for 20!!! But such poor judgment from the Mom - ours does the same thing when she goes to visit our cousin Gypsy - we can smell that lab all over her. Glad your Mom at least knew what she needed to do.

Mickey looks great for twenty! Probably best that he isn't visiting with you. I bet he'd want to sleep in your bed.

Hi Winnie! Nice to meet you! Mickey looks great for 20! Mr. Bufus (a Maine Coon) was well into his 20s when he crossed the Bridge, and definitely preferred to stay in his own home when Mom and Dad went some place (he preferred it so much that Mom and Dad bought a House With Wheels so everyone could travel with them, and they wouldn't ever have to leave any of us). Mr. Bufus ruled our house, so we were fine with that, but when Mom and Dad go see friends and come back smelling like other dogs? Oy. You'd think they'd have the courtesy to shower off the smell of The Other Dog before they came home! ;-)

We can't wait to read more about you!

Hi Winnie....It is very, very disturbing to smell other animals on our humans hands and I have to deal with it all the time because our parents are pet sitters....grrr! They tell us that they love us very much but still! Do they have to annoy us every single day? I am glad you told your human to wash her hands before petting you! Good job, Winnie!

MIckey looks GREAT for almost 20!!! Sorry to hear you were a little stressed by Mickey's smells. Cats really aren't so bad once you get to know them.

The first day my human sister worked at a doggy day care, there were lots of smells of other dogs, and that made me so jealous, I pooped on her bed, so the next day the first thing she did when she got home was to change her clothes and take a shower !

Haaa!
I wonder why they think we would not notice what they have done! Sniffing is one of our best skills, right?
Mickey is adorable!
Happy Sunday!

Well Winnie, good of you to keep the rules in line, I must say. Mickey is too cute (I'm just sayin) and looks closer to 20 days.

Wow, Mickey is mighty handsome at age 20! That gives me such hope that my sweet Lucy Bowtie will hopefully still be running all our lives and demanding things 9 years from now - LOL! Mickey is a tuxedo cat too I see, but instead of a bowtie, he's got a charming white spot on his nose. Cute! That is some look on your face there Winnie... sort of a cross between "appalled" and "repulsed."

Mickey does look great, especially for being 20 years old! We are glad you taught the LOTH to wash her hands between pets. You wouldn't want to cross-contaminate each other! :)

How DARE SHE?! OMD, I wouldn't stand for it Winnie. You were right to put your paw down and make her wash. (The kitty sure is cute though).
