Learning a 'less lawn' lesson

So I trotted out into the garden this morning and found that something was VERY VERY wrong.

Had overnight winds scattered the garden chairs around?

Looking more closely I could also see string forming a circle behind the chairs - and there were little bits of silver foil tied to it.

It's sort of sealed-off the brown bit of the garden - you remember - where my rabbits had dug up the grass.

What do you think is going on here, folks?

I wondered if the family had tried to create a special private toilet area for me - bless them - so I did step gingerly over the barriers and obliged....but they just gave me a funny look. So I think I may have been wrong.

It certainly makes it tricky for me to gallop round and show them a bit of my old racing pace.

I don't think I like it much. But The Lady Of The House has been taking me out for some particularly great walks though - which is cheering me up. I have now got a new nickname of Cinderella. Because when we go through the park where all the non-greyhounds are off their leads and playing with their toys, the LOTH always tells me I can't go to the ball.

Oh Winnie, excluded from your own garden, what are these humans like? Well done you for getting a way through though, and these balls in the park aren't all they're cracked up to be, we've tried a couple and they not that good to eat! Dex & Lou x

Winnie, Glad your mum is taking you long walks to make up for not being able to do zoomies in your garden.

Winnie, that does look a bit strange!! We hope you get lots of walks though and have fun doing it. To me, humans seem to do some weird things!! Lots of love, Holly

Sorry Winnie, maybe after while, you will have a place to play again. Maybe TLOH needs something called "Astro-Turf" :0)

HMMM I don't know what's up with all those chairs too. Something really strange is going on.

I'm not allowed to go off leash out of the yard either. That dirt garden is a perfect hole digging area, just step around those chairs!

Huh. Weird. My dad puts up all these little flags in the spot where Brudder Ranger zoom around one of our trees. I guess it's to make it feel like more of a racetrack. Maybe the LOTH is trying to gets you to learn about agility or something.

Oh bother! This looks like one of those silly human plots to grow grass in the yard! Hang tight, it won't last! They'll learn in time, I just know it!

Good luck with that string and foil - maybe it will keep the birds away. Word around here is that there might be some new sod coming and a temporary fence going up to keep some pups out of that area - surely that isn't us, right?

We have wooded off dirt patches Mom calls veggie gardens that are very forbidden. Then there are rock areas with flowers that are sort of forbiden. Why she won't allow us in the softest, best smelling dirt, I just can't understand.
